Finding, hiring and retaining quality people will immunize your practice against a “staff infection”. I share with you my processes for developing a practice’s most valuable asset: the staff.
Here is the ad I discussed in the podcast:
FT Chiropractic Clinical Assistant – Rare Career Opportunity
NO HEALTHCARE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!
* Are you looking for a career and not a J-O-B?
* Are you a smiler and a people person?
* Do you get energized by helping people of all ages — newborns to the elderly?
* Do you like to do good deeds?
* Are you honest, hard-working, punctual and detail oriented?
* Do you like a lot of variety in your workday and duties with no two days being the same?
* Are you professional in appearance and in communication?
* Do you enjoy working as part of a team to achieve goals?
* Do you root for the underdog?
* Do you, after you are properly trained, prefer to work without constant supervision, taking charge of a process and seeing it through to completion yourself?
* Can you laugh at, take responsibility for and learn from your mistakes?
* Do you offer solutions to problems instead of just complain about problems?
* Do you want to BE the best and work WITH the best?
If this sounds like you, we want to hear from you!
A long-time team member has advanced in her career leaving an opening on our clinical team!
We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, someone that is coachable, self-driven, open-minded and friendly with great communication skills. We will train you on literally every aspect needed to be successful. However, you must have the ability to multitask, use common-sense, be organized, be reliable, be punctual and work independently.
Essential Functions:
AGAIN, NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! In fact, people with no experience usually have no bad habits developed. WE WILL TRAIN YOU!
To give you an idea of what the job entails, once you are fully trained you will be:
* taking patient vitals, recording the patient’s history, documenting the patient encounter, recording charges and rescheduling the patient in a computerized electronic medical record,
* assisting the doctor with hands-on patient-care including: occasionally helping the doctor move patients, performing modalities on the patient including machine-assisted percussion, ultrasound, electric muscle stimulation and the application of heat and ice,
* reviewing the doctor’s prescribed home-care instructions with the patient including reviewing of any prescribed exercises,
* assisting the doctor with the proper fitting of orthopedic braces and foot orthotics,
* directing the flow of patient traffic in the office to ensure a pleasant experience for the patient and efficiency for the doctor,
* coordinating the schedule with the front-desk scheduling personnel,
* calling patients to help them schedule missed appointments,
* calling other health-care providers to schedule patient referrals or request medical records,
* calling insurance companies to gain pre-certification for diagnostic tests like MRI’s or CT scans,
* interfacing with the insurance billing department to ensure maximum reimbursement through proper coding and medical records preparation
* attending webinars and seminars to keep up with the state-of-the-art in our profession
* Cross-training into other positions in the office as your aptitudes dictate including: marketing, accounting, insurance billing, general clerical duties, regulatory compliance, etc.,
* … And much more!
Qualifications:
We are looking for an individual that has their high school degree, and additional education: either specialized training and/or college education. Ideal candidate would have degree and/or certification in exercise physiology, kinesiology, health-care administration, massage therapy, RadTech, Certified Personal Trainer, athletic trainer, physical therapy assistant, etc.
But please, please understand: We Hire the Person not the Resume!
This is not a desk job! As such, you must be able to lift, push and pull over 25 pounds on a regular basis, walk and work on your feet for long periods of time and be able to kneel, bend over and reach above your head without problem.
You must live within 30 minutes of our [location] office and have your own transportation.
Send us an email expressing your interest and explain why this sounds like the right opportunity for you. Attach your resume — or at least document your work history and education experiences in the email. Provide your phone number in the body of the email. If you send us an email and resume full of grammatical mistakes and spelling errors, your submission will be ignored — we need detail oriented, professional communicators!
